FILM FESTIVALS!!!

Blood Shot plays October 12th, in Gainesville, Georgia, and is nominated for three awards. Nominations: Best Short Film / Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Best SFX & Make-up.

Blood Shot will be playing at ExoFEST IV: The Detroit International Horror Film Festival running October 31st through November 15th. More details as we get 'em. (There's a rumor that clips of Blood Shot will play on the Sci-Fi Channel as a result of this festival. Stay tuned!)

Blood Shot is returning to Los Angeles! First Glance Los Angeles Film Festival 4, Raleigh Studios between November 6-9. (Showtime posted soon.) Come meet the filmmakers and some of the cast…

Blood Shot will be playing at ExoFEST III: Edmonton International Horror Film Festival, but it has been postponed. Since they added Blood Shot, they realized they needed a larger venue. "Bubba Ho-Tep" kicks off this festival. Groovy.

If you look real hard, or click on the image above, you’ll see an image from Blood Shot! It was used to represent the entire São Paulo International Short Film Festival between August 28th and September 6th. Over 40 films in 10 programs showed at that film festival. We hear there’s even more inside the magazine. Thanks to Sergio Martorelli for the image, and for sending us a copy.

REVIEWS

Blood Shot played August 30th and 31st in the largest film festival in South America; The São Paulo International Short Film Festival. The 16mm print played in the Horror / Comedy program referred to as “Terrir.” This is the review:

Balas de Sangue (Blood Shot), de Dietrich Johnston, 2002
Surprising American short movie, it’s a little strange that it was shown among the "Terrir" series, even though it does have some comedy elements, it’s the more intense stuff that’s the main course of the film. In this one, the only living vampire on Earth works for V.D., the Vampire Division of the CIA. He’s worked there for over 100 years as a hitman, tracking down and killing the likes of John Wilkes Booth and Jack The Ripper. Now he has the mission of snuffing out a terrorist with great abilities of camouflaging and changing his appearances at ease. The story’s glue is a cop who wants to fight crime above all, but isn’t aware that the vampire works for the law. It’s a very interesting short subject. The jokes work sporadically, but what really works perfectly is the main plot, including the way Johnston finds to show his feelings of revenge against the terrorists, showing that even if they (the terrorists) may sound random in their acts, they’re extremely intelligent (the terrorist leaders, of course). The ending is very good…It deserves more appreciation.

"Get Shortsy!"
Okay, that title just hurts. The short films program includes Dietrich Johnston’s Blood Shot, about a vampire hit man who works for the CIA and teams up with a loner cop to rid LA of a dangerous terrorist cell. I knew America was resorting to some desperate measures to sniff out terrorists, but recruiting from the ranks of the undead? Truly, these are dark days indeed. (Edwards Island Cinemas, 11 a.m.)

Blood Shot picks up it's second award at Dragon*Con 2003 on September 1st. In the largest horror, science fiction and fantasy film festival in North America, it's an honor to receive an Honorable Mention in the Horror/Comedy category.

Our first award was a Remi Award from WorldFest 2003, announced in May, 2003.

Saddam is currently working as a prostitute on the newly freed streets of Baghdad. This concurs with intelligence showing that he moves around every three hours and never sleeps in the same bed twice.

According to sources, Saddam even gives free sexual favors to anyone who carries out attacks on Allied troops.

In fact, Saddam has sex with so many men that if he had AIDS, he could be considered a Weapon of Mass Destruction himself. Let us hope.

MEMBERS OF NAMBLA?

Uday and Qusay are rumored to have been among the "founding fathers," or more accurately, "founding boys," of NAMBLA, the North American Man / Boy Love Association. "Everyone knows they had their hands involved in dealings with North America," says an anonymous source. Now we're learning they had their hands in young boy's underwear too.

"It's the deterioration of the society from the inside out. That's the best way they can win a war against America. Look at the anti war statements NAMBLA puts out. Look at the way they hold their guns. It should be obvious."

NAMBLA also is one of the top financial contributors to Saddam, Al Qaeda, and the Taliban, all promoters of Man / Boy sex.
